Welcome to Charters Towers Central State School. Central State School is medium sized school with strong values, and is located in the centre of Charters Towers, and approximately 1km from the town centre, and a short walk to the local High School. The school was established in 1875 to service the expanding gold exploration in Charters Towers, with 140 children attending. The school consisted of a small number of cramped and hot buildings. Today, over 160 children attend Charters Towers Central State School and enjoy air-conditioned classrooms with double teaching spaces.
Our enthusiastic and experienced teachers present the curriculum in an innovative way with a view to motivating and inspiring students. The ongoing support and involvement of our families and the wider community help ensure the learning experience is valued, memorable and truly unique for our students.
