Attendance

11/05/2017

Last week, Mr Barath and Kenny started making home visits to all parents whose children were not at school and had not advised the school that students would be absent.  Visits will occur every day.  Students who do not attend regularly or have patterns of absences will also receive a visit.

Attendance has dropped dramatically for a number of students and is slowly slipping for others.  It is expected that students have a maximum of 10 days off per year.  So far one third of our students have already had 10 days or more of absence and we have only had one term!

This is not good enough.  Everyday counts and Mr Barath will not allow students to miss vital days and weeks of schooling, particularly at such a critical age.  Kenny and Mr Barath will bring attandance improvement agreements with them on the home visits that will then be used in evidence for prosecution if it goes that far.

Please, send your children to school every day.  We want them to be the best that they can be and they can only do that with a solid foundational education.  For those parents who are sending their children every day, thank you for the future that you are providing.
